Complete Wellness: Addressing The
Whole Person

During the May 2005 American Psychiatric Association annual meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, at an event sponsored by Eli Lilly and Company, actress Linda Hamilton (a wonderful example of someone living with bipolar disorder), mental health professionals from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) came together to form an expert panel to discuss the "Complete Wellness" approach.

The event highlighted and honored stellar work from the Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service and two other agencies.

The following article, made possible by Eli Lilly and Company, describes "Complete Wellness," best practices and other topics. Representing the Brooklyn Bureau were:

Susan Buchanan
Assistant Director of Adult Rehabilitation Services
Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service

Lori Tannenbaum
Director of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services
Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service
